Application Process
Housing applicants may apply for an affordable unit when the wait list(s) is open which will be advertised through the internet, the news media, direct mailing and through the Township of Montclair. Applicants may obtain an application according to the advertisement by downloading it from this website, through the U.S. mail or by picking it up in person. Applicants should complete the application and return it accordingly by the published deadline. HOMECorp will sponsor a lottery drawing(s) to select applications on a pre-published date(s). Each applicant will receive a lottery drawing number in the chronological order in which his/her application is drawn. Applications will remain on file until the earlier of (1) such time as an affordable unit is available which fits within the applicant’s family size and income limit or (2) the application expiration. The wait list(s) will remain closed following the application acceptance deadline unless otherwise notified. Applicant eligibility is determined according to the New Jersey Council on Affordable Housing (COAH) guidelines unless otherwise notified.
